About Raymi Goodman
My story is the modern day tale of the great silver miners that came to Aspen in the 1800’s. They were in search of riches in the hillsides, and I came in search of snow on the ski runs. We both found what we were looking for, and luckily I have chosen a never ending resource that continues to return year after year.
After arriving in 1995, I had hoped to enjoy one year of post college ski bum bliss. Aspen skiing was truly like no other. With four mountains to choose from, champagne powder, and no lift lines; I thought I had found winter’s paradise. However, as the snow melted and spring arrived in full bloom, I started to grow aware of an entirely new dream. Time went on and the cloudless summer days captured my soul. I knew I had found “It”, and I had to find a way to call Aspen my home. I realized that every steep and deep plunge down the Face of Bell was matched by a 75 degree breeze on the Aspen golf course. Every breathtaking early morning winter hike up Buttermilk was rewarded that next summer with an amazing single track ride through aspen groves on Snowmass Mountain. And for each winter sled ride up to the Pine Creek Cookhouse, there were river rapids down the Roaring Fork to race through next July. Thus, although the winters brought me to Aspen, it was the summers that kept me here and craving for more.
As locals will soon teach any newcomer, every summer weekend counts and must be optimized by getting outside. Whether it is hiking, biking, camping, fishing, golf, horseback riding, kayaking, or just enjoying a stroll down the mall in the late afternoon sun, the activity options are endless. Aspen and Snowmass also offer a packed calendar of events. My favorites include the World Cup Ski Races, Winterskol, Food and Wine Festival, the Film and Comedy Festivals, the Ideas Fest, Labor Day concerts, and social gatherings of all types. And of course, Aspen’s world class dining, gallery hopping, retail shopping, and nightlife offer some of my favorite past times.
I am now married to my beautiful wife, Rachel, and our first child, Ethan, was born last year. I cannot think of a better place to start and raise a family. My wife and I are both so excited to raise our children in such an active, clean, and fun town. Our guest bedroom is usually full throughout the year with visitors enjoying the life also.
And so, whether you are looking for a condo to lease for one week, or a home to purchase to begin your own journey, please call me. I can show you more than just property; I can show you why you too will want to call Aspen home and discover your own pioneering spirit.
